Aura Education achieves Cyber Essentials certification

Taking further steps to protect the information we hold and the people we work with.

Aura Education has achieved Cyber Essentials certification, demonstrating our commitment to maintaining appropriate cyber security measures across our business.

As an education recruitment agency, we work with schools, trusts and education professionals, handling information that needs to be managed responsibly and securely. Protecting this information is an important part of maintaining trust with our candidates and clients.

Cyber Essentials is a UK Government-backed scheme developed by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). It helps organisations protect themselves against common cyber threats by setting out five key areas of technical security.

How Cyber Essentials supports our security

The certification assesses the security measures an organisation has in place across five core areas:

    • Firewalls: Helping to prevent unauthorised access to networks and devices.
    • Secure configuration: Ensuring computers and systems are set up securely.
    • Security updates: Keeping software and systems updated to address known vulnerabilities.
    • Access control: Restricting access to systems and information to authorised users.
    • Malware protection: Reducing the risk posed by malicious software.

These measures provide a recognised foundation for protecting business systems and reducing exposure to common online security risks.

What this means for schools, clients and candidates

Information security is an important responsibility in education recruitment. Our work involves relationships with schools, trusts, teachers and support staff, making it essential that the information we handle is appropriately protected.

Achieving Cyber Essentials certification gives our clients and candidates further reassurance that we take this responsibility seriously. It also provides a recognised framework for assessing and maintaining key security controls.

Alongside our existing compliance and safeguarding practices, this certification forms part of our wider commitment to providing a reliable and professional recruitment service to the education sector.

    Maintaining high standards

Cyber security requires ongoing attention. As technology develops and new threats emerge, organisations must continue to assess their systems and review the measures they have in place.

Aura Education will continue to take a proactive approach to information security, reviewing our processes and working to maintain appropriate safeguards for the information entrusted to us by our candidates, clients and partners.

Achieving Cyber Essentials certification marks an important step in our continued focus on security, accountability and the standards expected of a trusted education recruitment partner.
